There is a word that tends to make coaches uncomfortable. Not because they don't care about it. Not because they dismiss it. But because somewhere along the way, it became associated with paperwork, checklists, and legal obligation rather than with what it actually is: a fundamental expression of what it means to be a good coach. That word is safeguarding. Parkour has always understood something that mainstream sport has often struggled to articulate: that the relationship between a coach and a student is not transactional. It is not an exchange of technique for
