RDV X – Module Preview
You never know exactly what to expect at Rendezvous. It’s best to be prepared for anything. We can, however, give you a sneak preview of some of the special modules we’ll be offering:
Ever wanted to try Ninja Warrior? We’ll be doing some Obstacle Course Training focusing on off-ground assault course challenges, putting your abilities to the test and showing how much of an advantage parkour can be in events like this.
Because life isn’t all about races, though, we’ll also be running a Parkour Tactical segment on infiltration and exfiltration, as seen in recent press. Remember to use your training wisely and responsibly!
There will also be a Power 101 module, delivered by British Weightlifting Champion Kristian McPhee, introducing parkour athletes to power training, including weights. Parkour is an incredibly demanding discipline, putting a great deal of stress on the body while requiring serious power and strength levels to perform safely, consistently and well. If you want big jumps AND a functional pair of knees, correct conditioning is essential, and this module will help you to learn how to make sure you’re training right. If you are already an experienced lifter, this is a chance for you to hone your technique.
And finally, we’re looking forward to a module by the ever-amazing Chris McDougall, author of Born to Run and Natural Born Heroes. Chris has a lot of wisdom to share on natural athleticism, barefoot running and being strong to be useful – topics close to our heart.
