Project Wild Thing screening
Do you remember climbing trees as a little kid? Running around and getting muddy, scrambling over rocks and generally acting like a wild animal?
Good times, right? But fewer and fewer children are going to grow up with memories like that. According to UNICEF, fewer than 1 in 10 kids in the UK regularly play in wild spaces. They can identify more brand logos than they can wildlife.
We all know how important it is to move around, play and generally experience the outdoors. It’s absolutely vital for physical and mental health, and it’s just plain fun. As parkour practitioners, how many of us would be happy to trade our time spent moving outside for more time on the couch in front of the TV?
The Wild Network are an organisation devoted to getting kids back outdoors and into nature. On August 5th at 1:30pm, we’ll be having a free screening of their documentary, Project Wild Thing, at Chainstore. The film will last around an hour, and will be followed by discussion and some playtime on our equipment until around 4:00 pm. Check out the trailer below, and read this leaflet for more info on the film.
You can secure your place at the showing by registering for free by clicking here. Come on down. Watch, learn, play and be wild with us. See you on the 5th!
