End of an Era
Today was our last class at Moberly Sports Centre, which is now closing for at least two years for a large-scale rebuild.
This was where we started way back in 2005. Our Monday night indoor parkour session was the first Academy class to open, and was where several of our now-senior coaches started out as students.
Once Mondays were up and running, the next decade saw the arrival of Wednesday sessions, youth classes, family classes and ADAPT courses. ADAPT qualifications were first trialed at Moberly, and since then, we’ve run countless Level 1 and Level 2 courses there.
You can now attend our classes all over the world. In London we have the Chainstore, our own fully equipped training facility, and classes in various indoor venues and outdoor spots around the city. Parkour Generations Americas, Korea and Brasil offer training and events around the globe. The same is true for ADAPT, which is respected worldwide.
The last parkour in Moberly was done this morning in our Family class, the final class to be based there. This isn’t the end, though. Family class will be moving to a nearby sports centre, ADAPT qualifications will still be taught in London at the Chainstore and we have far more classes on offer than we did in 2005.
We’ve grown so much, and come so far – but it all started with that one Monday night class in a little sports centre in North-West London, and we will never forget that.
Take a look at our farewell gallery to relive it all. Thanks for the memories, Moberly.
