Coaching Weightlifting Level 1 – 29th, 30th August and 2nd September
Our good friend Kristian McPhee is back for some top level Olympic weightlifting coaching next week.
For the first time, Chainstore is hosting a weightlifting coaching qualification course – the 1st4Sport Level 1 Award in Coaching Weight Lifting. As previous winner of the British Under 23 Weightlifting Championship and the current British Championship holder, along with being a certified British Weightlifting Tutor and Level 2 Coach, fitness instructor and ADAPT Parkour Coach Level 2, Kristian is pretty qualified.
The 1st4sport Level 1 Award in Coaching Weight Lifting is suitable for those who are new to coaching, but who have some knowledge of the sport of Olympic weightlifting and would like to learn how to apply that in a coaching environment. If you would like to do this course, you should be committed to your own development and should be looking to gain experience whilst working with a more experienced coach who is already qualified at Level 2 or higher.
This is an opportunity to be introduced to the principles of planning, delivering and evaluating coaching activities under the guidance of a highly experienced, skilled and engaging instructor. You will be helped to understand how to effectively assist more qualified weightlifting coaches in sessions introducing the snatch and clean and jerk.
