Chainstore Workshop: Move With Purpose
At Parkour Generations we believe in training the entire individual, not just the athlete. A healthy body is nothing without a healthy mind. Parkour is a practice in which we make contact with ourselves – our fears, anxieties, reactions, and habits. It is an arena of learning in which we confront the only opponent who matters – ourselves – and find that the opponent is there only to help us understand ourselves.
This changes how we live outside of parkour as well as while we are training. The focus, self knowledge and discipline we need in order to break jumps and conquer our fears help us to deal with everyday conflicts and obstacles.
On Sunday 23rd July, we will delve deeper into the mental aspect of parkour in the three-hour Move With Purpose workshop taught by Dan Edwardes. This session is designed to impart a highly effective approach to parkour training, exploring methods and strategies based on the learnings of expert coaches and practitioners.
There will be both theory and practice, so come prepared to move as we focus on the following areas:
- Deliberate practice
- Expert training strategies
- Principles of natural learning and unlocking instinctive movement
- Mindfulness in movement
- Applying the science of expertise.
Expect to finish the day with practical knowledge of how to improve your mental resilience, physical resilience training efficiency and emotional resilience.
Booking is now open on our event page, which also contains more details of the course content and aims. As always, places are limited, so book early to avoid disappointment.
