BBC News – Unfit in middle age: Are you doomed?
How often do you hear someone tell you that they are “too old” for physical activity – not only parkour but running, martial arts, climbing and anything else that sounds like it might be fun?
We know that there’s no magic age where you have to stop (or are unable to start, for that matter). Movement is hugely beneficial to everyone throughout their entire lifespan, and it’s fantastic to see more and more people start parkour after the stereotypical age of 20-something and grow fitter, stronger and more confident.
People believing they are “too old” not only miss out on this – a lack of fitness in middle age can influence your quality of life from then on, leaving you more vulnerable to strokes, dementia and early death.
