The photographs produced by Andy Day have been hugely influential in the representation of parkour over the last four years. Having been at the heart of the growth of the UK scene, Andy's work has defined parkour through his unique style and the reproduction of his work around the world. From Playboy to the Sunday Times, countless magazines and newspapers have used Andy's work, as have the likes of Adidas and Canon in their advertising.
Andy began simply by photographing some of the original parkour practitioners in the UK, building up an extensive catalogue and encountering opportunities to photograph some of the best athletes in the world. Various prints have been exhibited in London, Birmingham and New York, and he continues to shoot regularly with well-established practitioners as well his own artistic projects and commissions for various clients.
In addition to his photographic work, Andy worked on the acclaimed Channel 4 documentary Jump Britain as Researcher and as Assistant Producer on a parkour-based advert directed by Mike Christie. He has worked extensively with director Julie Angel, assisting in production and filming in numerous projects.
Andy also hopes eventually to return to his studies to complete an ongoing study of the social and theoretical aspects of parkour and the built environment.
